PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The DiD (Interactive Dolphin Bollard) is a device capable of keeping dolphins away from fishing nets, thanks to an efficient technology of interaction with their echo-location system (sonar).

DiD is the interactive evolution of DDDs. It produces ultrasound only when it detects the presence of mammals in the area, through a special circuit of “listening” to the clicks emitted by dolphins.

The level of DiD emissions does not produce any harm either to mammals or to fish, which are insensitive to the frequencies emitted.

It is powered by internal (sealed) rechargeable batteries and generates an acoustic signal in case of insufficient charge.

Specific features of the DiD 01 model:

Use: in ports, on long gillnets, trammel nets, longlines.

Average battery charge time: it depends a lot on the presence or absence of dolphins.

Horizontal distance between two devices: minimum 600 m (to prevent emissions from one device from activating the neighboring one).

The advantages of this model compared to DDD are the reduction of the possibility of dolphin habituation, the increase in the duration of the battery charge and the reduction of noise pollution.
